Frequently asked questions

It depends on the source — PDFs full of scanned images shrink the most; text-heavy PDFs are already efficient and shrink less.

Structural compression is lossless. Image re-encoding uses a moderate quality setting to balance size and clarity.

Real, aggressive PDF compression normally relies on server-side tools like Ghostscript. Our browser-based version is a solid best-effort — for the most demanding cases a connected server engine can do more.
